There’s a lot to look forward to on the Aspen Graduate Program
The Aspen Graduate Program lasts two years, during which time you will have access to industry experts who will support you through your learning pathway.

Program outline

Your new career path with Aspen will begin in September.

We will provide you with a mix of training from both internal subject matter experts and external thought leaders, workshops to help you gain a broader knowledge of Aspen, access to online learning, rotations with different teams across the business, and support to undertake professional qualifications.

Your career will likely take you all over the insurance and reinsurance industry, maybe to different cities around the world. At Aspen, we ensure that you get the best start to your career with support, training and qualifications that will help you learn the principles of your chosen field.

In addition to full on-the-job technical training, you will have access to in-house support to provide you with the business skills and abilities needed to become a successful business leader.

Professional qualifications that place you a cut above
We will provide you with financial support to study towards professional, post graduate qualifications in your chosen field, whether you are working in underwriting and studying towards your ACII or CPCU designation; in finance and working towards your ACCA; or you wish to achieve your Institute and Faculty of Actuaries qualification.

Expert guidance throughout

You will be paired up with a buddy within Aspen, they will be sitting in your department and a Graduate from a previous year. They will share their journey with you, provide impartial help and advice to guide you through your first couple of months at Aspen and beyond.

What we are looking for

We are looking for Graduates who demonstrate enthusiasm, new ideas, good commercial acumen, drive and ambition, great teamwork and strong relationship skills.
Expertise, experience and thoughtfulness make Aspen’s people some of the most creative in the industry. Being grounded, with a sense of humour is also crucial to us.

Requirements

Country               Qualifications and skills

UK                       2:1 degree, strong analytical and mathematical
skills. Consideration for 2:2 degree with right fit
candidate

US                        GPA of 3.0 or higher, majored in a subject related to
Risk Management or Actuarial, such as Economics,
Mathematics, or Engineering.

All applicants must have citizenship or the right to work in the country to which they are applying.

Online Application

Once we have received your application, we’ll review it and, if your application meets our Graduate Program criteria, you will be invited to complete an online psychometric test. If successful you will be invited to a video interview.

Throughout each stage of the recruitment process, you will be assessed according to set criteria and scoring based on our Graduate Behavioural Competency Framework. These competencies have been designed and aligned with Aspen’s culture, values and allow us to assess your suitability to our Program.

Video Interview

The video interview is a task that you record and send to us to review. Its an opportunity for us to see you and listen to your answers to pre-set questions. We will ask some competency based questions about your experiences in education, social life and work if applicable.

Assessment Center

The assessment centres will be in February and March, and will be virtual. This is a great opportunity to get to know us better and learn more about Aspen’s culture.

Recruitment process

If you think a career in (re)insurance is for you and you’re ready for the challenge, then you can start the process with just one click. You must have an unrestricted right to work in the country in which the role is based without the support of a work visa. You will be numerate, demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and be able to write fluently in business English.

Once we’ve received your application, we’ll review it and, if your application meets our Graduate Program criteria, you will be invited to complete an online psychometric test. If successful you will be invited to a video interview.

Video Interview

The video interview will last approximately 45 minutes, ensure you find an appropriate place to do this. This stage is an opportunity for us to meet you digitally face-to-face and to continue to build our relationship. We will ask you a series of competency-based questions, your answers should be based around your experiences in your education, work or social life.

Assessment Center

If you’re successful at the video interview stage we’ll invite you to a virtual Assessment. This is a fantastic opportunity for you to get to know us better and the day’s agenda will be divided into 3 components:
