Applications for most of our 2024 graduate roles are now closed.

We are looking for enthusiastic, ambitious, team playing Graduates to join us and help shape our future, as we will help shape yours.

Every year we welcome a new cohort of Graduates who join us for a 2-year rotational program based in our following office locations: New Jersey and Connecticut in the US, Bermuda, and in London, UK. Our Graduates rotate every few months within the business area they have selected. Each year we look for graduates across multiple functions in the business, see below the graduate roles we are looking for this year.

Our next Graduate Program will begin in September 2024. Our Graduates will be fully supported through mentorship, career advising, gaining professional qualifications while receiving a competitive starting salary and flexible benefits.

Program Details

Program Outline

Your new career path with Aspen will begin in September.  

We will provide you with a mix of training from both internal subject matter experts and external thought leaders, workshops to help you gain a broader knowledge at Aspen, access to online learning, rotations with different teams across the business, and support to undertake professional qualifications. 

Additionally, we will provide you with financial support to study towards professional, post graduate qualifications in your chosen field.

Insurance / Reinsurance Graduate Role

As an Underwriting Graduate you will have the opportunity to gain experience in some of the most specialist lines of business in Insurance or Reinsurance. Includes gaining understanding of different lines of business, build key relationships, and build your knowledge around the type of risks we write.

Eligibility:

  • Must be eligible to work in the country you apply to. Minimum of a bachelor’s degree
  • GPA of 3.0 or above if in U.S. and Bermuda or on track to receive 2:1 if in U.K. Will consider 2:2 for a right fit

Legal & Group Compliance Graduate

As a Legal & Compliance Graduate, you will have the opportunity to work in different teams within our Legal and Compliance function. This gives you the opportunity to gain an understanding of different lines of business, build knowledge of the laws and regulations that impact Aspen.

Eligibility:

  • Must be eligible to work in the country you apply to
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Higher in Liberal Arts. GPA of 3.0 or above

Risk Function Graduate

Aspen is an innovator in the management of complex risks on behalf of our clients. As a Risk Function Graduate, you will have the opportunity to work with different teams across our Risk function. This will give you the opportunity to gain an understanding of different lines of business, build key relationships and build your knowledge around the type of risks we write.

Eligibility:

  • Must be eligible to work in the country you apply to
  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree or Higher in Liberal Arts
  • Must be on track to receive a 2:1. Consideration for 2:2 degree with right fit candidate

Finance Graduate Role

The Finance Graduate Program is an excellent opportunity to gain a valuable insight in the finance department of a global insurance and reinsurance company. You will gain exposure and experience in technical insurance and reinsurance accounting, financial operations, management reporting and analysis, and auditing and controls-based functions. As a Finance Graduate, you will rotate into a variety of finance teams, providing you with unique insight into the responsibilities and deliverables that each team offers. Each rotation will therefore expose you to a variety of skills, knowledge, and stakeholders around the company as you become a key contributor of deliverables for each team.

U.S. Eligibility:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Higher preferably in Finance, Accounting, or similar field
  • Must have a GPA of 3.0 or above
  • Aspen will also provide support and funding towards professional qualifications that are relevant to Finance.

UK Eligibility:

  • Must be eligible to work in the country you apply to
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Higher preferably in Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, or similar field
  • UK Graduates on track to receive a 2:1. Consideration for 2:2 degree for right fit candidate
  • Must have good GCSE and A/AS Level grades, ideally having achieved a B grade or above in a numerical subject such as Mathematics
  • In the third-year graduates will have the ability to choose the teams they rotate into with options within the broader finance department and areas related to finance.
  • As a Finance Graduate we’ll provide you with the support and funding necessary to become fully ACCA qualified.

Human Resources Graduate

As a Human Resources graduate, you will have the opportunity to gain experience within different functionalities of HR working with our subject matter experts in Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development, Shared Services (HRIS, Payroll, etc.) Rewards and Benefits, and with our HRBPs.

Eligibility:

  • Must be eligible to work in the country you apply to
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Higher preferably studying towards a degree in Human Resources, Labor & Employment Relations, or a similar field
  • UK Graduates on track to receive a 2:1. Consideration for 2:2 degree for right fit

Catastrophe Risk & Exposure Management Graduate

As a CRM graduate, you will learn catastrophe modeling, a risk management process to assess the potential losses caused by a catastrophic event. As an EM graduate, you will learn the practice of identifying and analyzing loss exposures and taking steps to minimize the financial impact of the risks they impose. Graduate in this group function will potentially have the opportunity to move through 2 CRM teams, EM team, plus potential rotation in insurance / reinsurance underwriting teams.

Eligibility:

  • Must be eligible to work in the country you apply to. Bachelor’s Degree or Higher
  • Preferably studying towards a degree in geography, climate change, seismology / earth sciences, meteorology, engineering, environmental sciences, economics, maths/ statistics
  •  Programming skills preferred
  • UK Graduates on track to receive a 2:1. Consideration for 2:2 degree for right fit

IT Analyst Graduate

The IT graduate program will comprise of a number of rotations of four or eight months, allowing the candidate to gain experience across the different teams within IT.  These are:

Architecture, Business & IT Change / Application Development, Infrastructure, Security, Financials / Portfolio Delivery / Vendor Management / PMO, and Service Delivery.

Eligibility:

  • Must be eligible to work in the country you apply to
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Higher in computer science, information technology, telecommunications, or a related field
  • GPA of 3.0 or above if in U.S. or on track to receive 2:1 if in U.K. Will consider 2:2 for a right fit candidate

Recruitment Process

You must have an unrestricted right to work in the country in which the role is based without the support of a work visa. You will be numerate, demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and be able to write fluently in business English. 

Once we’ve received your application, we’ll review it and, if your application meets our Graduate Program criteria, you will be invited to complete an online psychometric test. If successful you will be invited to a video interview. 

Throughout each stage of the recruitment process, you will be assessed according to set criteria and scoring based on our Graduate Behavioural Competency Framework. These competencies have been designed and aligned with Aspen’s culture, values and allow us to assess your suitability to our Program and to see if you have what it takes to be successful at Aspen. 

Assessment Center

If you’re successful at the video interview stage, we’ll invite you to an in person or a virtual Assessment. This is a fantastic opportunity for you to get to know us better and the day’s agenda will be divided into 3 components: 

  • Individual Presentation 
  • Group Discussion 
  • Business Interview
