Aspen’s global commitment to helping our local communities is deeply embedded in our culture and closely aligned with our values. The following is an example of several charitable efforts that four of our offices engaged in recently:
Rocky Hill:
Colleagues from our Rocky Hill, Connecticut, office lent a helping hand at one of the Chrysalis Center’s initiatives called the Food Forest, an urban garden dedicated to growing fresh, local produce for local residents experiencing food insecurity. Based in Hartford, Connecticut, the Chrysalis Center provides vital support for individuals battling poverty, mental health challenges, addiction, HIV/AIDS, homelessness and re-entry following incarceration.
Additionally, the Rocky Hill office, alongside colleagues visiting from London and Bermuda, spent the day volunteering at Camp Courant in Farmington, Connecticut—the oldest, free summer camp in the United States. Camp Courant’s mission is to ensure that children in the area, ages 5 to 12, have equal access to recreational and educational experiences that combine fun with enrichment.
Zurich:
Colleagues in our Zurich office have shown what teamwork, determination and a little pedal power can do! Taking part in the bike-to-work challenge, the team collectively covered an impressive 3,060 kilometers through cycling, walking and other eco-friendly travel over 362 days. Their efforts helped to promote a healthier lifestyle and saved 441 kilograms of CO₂ emissions—and that’s not all. The challenge also supported Essen Für Alle (Food for All), a Swiss organization that provides basic essentials to those in need. And to honor the team’s dedication, the Aspen CSR Committee contributed £10,000 to support the charity’s mission.
Bermuda:
Aspen is proud to be the lead sponsor of the Warwick Workmen’s Club for the 2025 cricket season—supporting upgrades to the Club’s training facility and grounds and providing new uniforms and equipment to empower local players. Founded in 1922 and based in Warwick Parish, Bermuda, the Club is well known for developing youth players. Lorenzo Tucker, Warwick Workmen’s Club President, said: “Thanks to Aspen’s contribution, our cricket program is thriving. This partnership not only strengthens our club but enriches our community and instils sporting values while nurturing the next generation of athletes.”
London:
Members of our U.K. CSR Committee swapped their desks for a deck, as they joined students from the Scaramouche Sailing Trust—one of our U.K. charity partners—for a day out on the Solent. This organization provides opportunities to inner-city school children from Greig City Academy (GCA) in London. It’s not just about sailing—it’s about life skills, teamwork and opening doors for future generations. Wes Braga Silva, Aspen Insurance Finance Business Partner and U.K. CSR Committee Chair, said: “One of the highlights for me was the conversations with the students; many were curious about our careers at Aspen and how we got into them—it really hit home how pivotal this moment in their lives is.”
