Our first cohort of apprentices has now successfully transitioned into permanent roles. We welcomed six school-leavers on 4 March, placing them across our Claims, Underwriting, and Business & Insurance Operations functions.
During the program, the apprentices gained valuable work experience and were supported in achieving professional qualifications, including the Cert CII. They also took part in virtual classroom learning and received one-to-one coaching from experienced industry practitioners.
We are proud to have offered the apprentices full-time positions within the organization and look forward to continuing to develop the skills they’ve established.
Congratulations to Richie Payne, Mia Copping, Lauren Oliver, Maisy Arnold, Mia Watkins, and Ariane Wiesner for completing the program!
Reflecting on the last 18 months they said:
“As a group, we’ve gained a deeper understanding of insurance, met many people across the business, and strengthened our relationship-building skills. The workshops made our studies clearer and helped us figure out the direction we want for our careers.
Now that we’re in our permanent roles, we carry more responsibility and feel far more confident. We’re being asked to contribute in bigger ways, and it feels good to know that the work we do supports the wider goals of the business.”
Some line managers discussed their growth and contributions:
Vim Phiri, UK Business & Strategic Oversight Manager, Office of the UK CEO, said, “Lauren has shown reliability and professionalism throughout her apprenticeship – Consistently supporting me and the wider team, approaching tasks with a positive and learning attitude. I’m excited to see what she can achieve next.”
Richard Horrocks, Business Partner – International Insurance Underwriting Services, said, “Mia’s dedication, growth, and positivity have strengthened our team and been inspiring to see. Watching her develop her skills, achieve her goals, and step confidently into new responsibilities has been a highlight of the year, and her impact continues to grow.”
