Shortly afterwards we launched our UK subsidiary – then known as Wellington Re – and focused initially on property and casualty reinsurance and UK commercial insurance.
A year later, in 2003, we floated on the New York Stock Exchange and we now have offices and subsidiaries across the world, trading in a wide range of insurance and reinsurance classes. We have grown our capital base from around $370 million to $3 billion and our total assets stood at $13 billion at the end of 2017.
